Finding the Audience
Where there is no regular procedure for finding an audience, CRS will
help to establish a data base of participating schools by lionising
with local education authorities and by direct approach to schools within
the region.
Press
& Publicity CRS will supply material for press releases
and will help identify
useful media outlets.
Financing the
project CRS will prepare a project budget and if appropriate,
will seek grant aid from the regional Arts Board and from local authorities.
CRS will actively
seek commercial sponsorship for projects which have been agreed by orchestras
or other
promoters and would normally expect to find approximately half of the
projected loss,
after grants and Box Office income have been off-set against expenses.
Hiring the Concert
Hall Normally undertaken by the orchestra or promoter.
Hiring the Conductor
Hilary Davan Wetton or Richard Brown will normally conduct
these concerts; a deputy may be appointed, by agreement between the
CRS and the
orchestra or promoter.
Hiring the Orchestra/
Producer/ Narrator By agreement between the CRS and the
orchestra or promoter.
Orchestral music
hire; royalties negotiated by CRS.
Teachers' Pack
Songs and accompaniment; recorder parts; cross-curricular
projects;-
one set to be sent to every participating school, provided by CRS.
Out-reach Programme
of schools' visits. Visits by CRS professional musicians
arranged, or members of the orchestra, by agreement.
Hire of costumes
and scenery (if applicable) Some available free from CRS; otherwise
by agreement.
Programme Printing
Normally produced by the orchestra or promoter; some material
supplied by CRS.
Concert administration Seating
plans, distribution of tickets, Front-of-House;-
Normally undertaken by the orchestra or promoter, but CRS will undertake
to organise
these elements at cost price.
